Well DBC have done it again, sending every bus up Priestgate seems to have added stress to the sewers and made them collapse bringing Darlington Town Centre into Christmas chaos!

The council have a lot of letters from a council tax payer saying that it is a daft idea for all those buses to go up Crown Street and priestgate because the road isn't made for it. But they had to have their way and this is what we get from their ignorance. Chaos that will last for years! _________________ Townie Boy |

The trouble is they don't ever want to admit they are wrong. As such this has caused a build up of contempt for them (DBC) from the public and by their actions they are probably harming the chances of one of the best Parlimentary candidates (Jenny Chapman) from being elected.
If the local Labour party wanted to assure Jenny's election to Darlington MP they should have the sense to see what is holding her back. That being the present leader and force him to step down.
All he is noted for throughout the town is all the monumental "cock ups" that ultimately land at his feet as leader, the Pedestrian Heart that is as pedestrianized as the A1, The transport corridor that is way over budget not to mention way over height (bring in the residents compo), and the many other scandals and allegations mentioned on here and other sites over the last few years.
I would also suggest should Jenny win she make the wearing of ties mandatory at DBC he is an embarrassment everywhere he goes, He represents Darlington and yet lets us down. I bet he wore a tie when he went for his "gong" so if it's good enough for the Queen it should be good enough for his subjects.
I don't think I would ever vote Labour again if Johno et al will be running the town again and I do deeply feel sorry for Jenny and do not know if she can get the Labour Party behind her and force his resignation. _________________ If only "carlsberg made PHarts" |

I had a little trouble claiming Small Business Rate Relief a little while back. The so called "local taxation manager" didn't seem to be up to date with the rules. I emailed Alan Milburn. It took ages before I receive a reply by which time I had sorted the issue. They were probably too busy dealing with his expense claims.
The reply, which came from one of his office staff, didn't offer to help me sort the problem it simply suggested who I should write to.
I just hope Ms Chapman re-staffs the office and undertakes to have a more hands on approach to people's problems or I'll be voting for someone else |

| Worst thing about having bus stands down Crown Street is that the pavement is so crowded with people waiting for the bus you have to walk on the road to get past |

I have recently wrote to both Milburn and Wilson and neither rush to reply and even then it is never an answer as you say it is a redirection.
It was clear which way they play when they both came to Croft to save the post office got loads of nice Echo photo shoots etc and then the week later voted to close it.
At least one of the so called peoples representatives has had the decency to step down although the rumour is it is not for the reason he alleges but more of a "Clinton"
As for Crown St. the whole Phart fiasco it was just that a fiasco and what of the missing Chinese missing granite/marble whatever it was, that it is alleged is burried up Favordale???
The buck must stop with the leader and he is shit... so should go

I think it was his idea to build a Tesco supermarket next door to St Cuthberts Church. And closing the Hurworth School, one of the best in the country, came from him and the cabinet. But could he be the best of a bad bunch? Could never see any sense in those ideas! _________________ Townie Boy |
